Hi guys,
I am back with another review, this time it’s about snail cremes and if they are as good as they say. So far, I have tried two different snail mucus-containing cremes, namely the one from Missha and Tony Moly, both Korean brands. It seems that Korea is a country known for their high quality skin care products.
The mucus secreted by the snails protects their undersides from bacteria, cuts and sun damage. It contains hyaluronic and glycolic acids, elastin, glycoprotein enzymes, antimicrobial and copper peptides; all goods for your skin. In addition, it contains cyclodextrin, a compound used in a lot of drugs to confer solubility and stability. The benefits of the snail mucus have been recognised for thousands of years. It is very potent when it comes to moisturising, minimising acne scars and dark spots, reducing inflammation and fine lines.

I like both Super Aqua Snail Creme from Missha and the Timeless Ferment Snail Creme from Tony Moly. They make my skin silky, moisturised, smoother and brighter. My skin recovers super quickly if I have had a spot. In general, their effect is similar and that makes it difficult to say which one I like better.

The Super Aqua Snail Creme from Misscha has a transparent gel-like texture, and quite strong (cucumber-like) scent (so, if you don’t like scented products, this one is not for you). The key ingredients are snail slime extract (70% concentration), baobab tree extract, deep sea water and botanical callus extract. The combination of these unique ingredients fights against signs of ageing, rough texture and dullness. It’s very easy to use, absorbs instantly, leaving your skin soft and smooth with no shiny finish. It is suitable for all skin type, including sensitive skin. The product comes in a big luxurious jar, way too big for the 52ml of product, if you ask me. Price €32.95.

The Timeless Ferment Snail Creme from Tony Moly is more like a creme-gel hybrid with a subtle citrus scent. Similar to the Missha snail creme, this one contains 70% snail secretion filtrate. Tony Moly says that the snails have been fed with gold green tea ferment, hence the name Ferment Snail Creme. Another active ingredient in this product is Niacinamide, which has brightening effect and works against acne and wrinkles. The citrusy smell comes from the orange, lemon and other citrus oil extracts. The skin feels very smooth, silky and moisturised after application. After a longer use, this creme improves skin elasticity, tone and texture. The product comes attractively packaged in a nice gold 50 ml jar with a locking lid and an applicator stick. My creme came in a package deal, including a good sample size of the Timeless Ferment Eye Creme, which by the way is also quite nice. I was lucky and bought mine with 50% discount, so I paid €30,- , but its normal price is around €50,- (just check online for some good deals).

I see a significant improvement of my skin since I use a creme containing snail mucus. I’m really satisfied with it and will definitely keep using it.
What is your experience with snail products? Would you try any?
xxLove,
