On Trend: Vinyl

Are you one of those girls who like being up to date with the latest trends? What do you think about the vinyl trend, which seems to be under the spot light this season? Many designers featured it in their SS2018 collections and a lot of celebrities are rocking the plastic look in trousers, skirts, dresses, coats etc. But how easy it is to wear and style this shiny patent leather fabric? Well, it isn’t easy at all since this type of fabric shows and accentuates the curvy parts of your body and if you don’t complement it with the right clothes, it can turn your look into a mistake.

Remember, if you ever find yourself wearing a vinyl piece of clothing, the rest of your outfit should be pared down. Try to match your vinyl items with cotton shirts, knits, chunky sweaters, faux furs or another contrasting fabric for a sophisticated and sleek result.

Red and Black vinyl pants are my favourite, here I have styled the red version with a cotton t-shirt, chunky oversized vest (or a faux fur coat) and simple ankle booties with a small chunky heel. And to make the vinyl pants even office-appropriate I would switch the t-shirt for a button-down oversized shirt. My red vinyl pants are from Missguided, but you can find similar items almost everywhere, I told you the trend is huge right now 😉

The winter is grey enough, so I would say: if you dare, go and add some fun into your winter outfits 🙂
