Hallo, lovely ladies! Today, I want to talk about two products that helped my skin to recover after bad breakouts in the winter. I have to admit that I have never suffered from acne before, not even when I was a teenager! However, in the last two winter seasons the situation was uncontrollable. And in spring and summer, everything’s back to normal, but then I’m left with blemishes and dark spots. Mhm yes, very annoying 😦 I tried many different treatments, cleansers, creams, serums….almost anything that people would recommend, but nooope nothing helped. And then, I came across these two products of Kiehl’s: Midnight Recovery Concentrate and Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution.
Let’s first discuss the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. This product is apparently among one of the bestsellers of Kiehl’s and there’s probably no beauty blogger on Earth who hasn’t raved about it 🙂 What I like about this product, which actually holds true for all products from Kiehl’s, is that it contains 99,8% natural ingredients. Its main ingredients are Evening Primrose oil (rich in Omega-6 fatty acids), Lavender oil (gives strong smell, which I personally don’t mind), Squalane (a plant lipid that restores skin’s natural moisture balance).
The Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a night-time working skincare oil, which will make your skin look softer, smoother and more balanced when you wake up. It assists the skin’s self-recovery, but frankly don’t expect miracles. Despite that it’s an oil, it’s very light and it will be instantly absorbed by your skin, without leaving an oily film. It can be worn alone or under moisturiser on a cleansed skin. In the beginning, I was using it every evening, because my skin looked bad, but now I only use it every now and then and especially when my skin needs an extra boost.
The concentrate comes in a lovely blue glass bottle, which by the way is 100% recyclable. It’s very easy to apply due to the handy pipet/pump. You don’t need a lot, for me 5 drops are usually enough. I’m using it for about 3 months now and the bottle is still very full, so it seems it will last forever :). The Midnight Recovery Concentrate costs €43 for 30ml.
But let me tell you my experience with the other product, the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution. As I mentioned earlier after the rough breakouts this winter, my skin was left with a lot of dark spots and blemishes (my forehead was completely covered). BUUUUT, this product helped me to restore the look of my skin, yeeeeey! Although it won’t happen overnight, but gradually, it does work (for me)! I saw visible results in 2-3 weeks of use.
The Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution is a watery serum, formulated to fight against dark spots, discolouration and hyperpigmentation. It’s enriched with Activated Vitamin C and Peony extract, which work synergistically to improve skin clarity. Additionally, it contains salicylic acid, so the pimples will heal slightly faster. When I apply it, it somehow tightens my face and my skin looks smoother. You should apply it both day and night after cleansing your skin and layer it with moisturiser (it dries the skin a bit, since it also contains alcohol).
Same as the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, this serum comes in a glass bottle and it applies very easy with the supplied pipet. This product goes quicker since you apply it twice (morning and evening) every day. I have used half a bottle in 3 months continues application and I’ve paid €47 for 30ml.
I highly recommend this two products, especially the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, to anyone who needs a hand in fighting breakouts or dark spots/blemishes. I would certainly repurchase them and will try other products from Kiehl’s!
Have you tried any of these products and what was your experience? I’m curious to hear about it.
xxLove,

Hey Luna, when I use the midnight oil I don’t use the dark spot solution at the same time, but at the next morning I am applying the dark spot solution and it is fine. I hope this answers you question!
